Mans yellow gold filled pocket watch chain maker signed BAB (B.A. Ballou & Co.) Measures 13" in length x 4mm wide (3/16"). Simple oval links alternated with elongated oval links with swivel on one end, and spring ring on the other. This chain would look ideal on a 16 size pocket watch. Maker marked and hallmarked on the swivel "BAB 1/20 12KT" and on the spring ring "1/12 12K GF". If you are unsure about the size in comparison to your pocket watch, let us know what the measurements are and we can take an image of the chain with a watch of the same size so that you will have a better idea. According to Jewelry in America 1600 to 1900 by Martha Gandy Fales, Ballou also was the supplier to the jewelry trade of pin stems, seamless joints, catches, and ear wires- (page 415). The company was founded in 1876 by Barton A. Ballou along with his brother in law, John J. Fry. Ballou was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island October 1935. At the age of 18 he was apprenticed to learn the jewelers' trade with the firm of Lyon & Rathbun of Providence where he worked as a journeyman for a number of years. Upon the death of Fry, Ballou's son, Frederick A. Ballou, became a partner and for a number of years was the general manager. Manufacturers of gold and rolled plate jewelry with specialties and jewelers' findings. They have always been noted for the very high quality of their products.

We will refer to the USPS delivery confirmation (tracking) date that was provided to you at the time of your purchase. Layaways are Non-Refundable, transactions made outside of the United States are Non-Refundable. NO EXCEPTIONS. We do not charge restock fees for returns. Refunds are issued less shipping costs.

The following conditions apply:
1) The item must be mailed back to us within 7 days of notification.
2) The item must be returned via USPS in its original packaging, insured for the full purchase price with delivery confirmation. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.
3) The item must be received in the same condition as when it was shipped to you, with any tags or identifying marks intact.

Payment is due within 48 hours of purchase. Money orders and cashiers checks and personal checks due within 1 week of purchase. Items will be returned to stock after this time. Ohio residents must add 6.75% sales tax (or provide us with a current Ohio vendors license number held in your name).

Non U.S. Buyers:
We accept Paypal (VERIFIED Paypal accounts only) for purchases under $200. For all purchases over $200 we require either Western Union or *Bank Wire Transfer. Any fees are the buyers responsibility.

*Information for Bank Wire Transfer: please contact and we will supply on request with an active purchase order. There is an automatic $20 fee applied to all bank wire transfers.

Shipping from United States

We ship United States Postal Service (USPS) only. Domestic U.S. shipping rates are listed in each of our descriptions. We always combine shipping on multiples purchases, so please do not submit payment until you receive an order confirmation from us.

USPS requires a waiting period of 30 days from the date of mailing before filing a claim for lost items. If you have not received your parcel within a reasonable period of time after receiving our notice of shipment, please email us to report the problem. USPS may ask to review email correspondence between the buyer and seller to confirm details and verify the loss.
