Fantastic vintage early Art Deco 18k gold (two tone white and yellow) black onyx and amethyst ring, by a scarce early maker, signed M.B. Bryant & Company. Size 7 ring measures 3/4" x 9/16", band tapers to 2mm at the back of the ring shank, and the ring weighs a very sturdy 6.7 grams. Bezel set black onyx, with a 4mm x 2.5mm (.20 carat) purple amethyst, also bezel set, into a simple white gold collar. Stunning raised scrolling ivy leaves around the entire edge of the mounting done in yellow gold, accent the white gold mounting. Chaff of wheat engraving run down the shoulders of the band. Hallmarked and maker marked "18K" on the inside of the ring shank. The maker mark is three entwined circles or rings, and can be seen in detail on page 53 of American Jewelry Manufactures by Dorothy T. Rainwater, who notes that M.B. Bryant & Company was founded in 1858 by Monroe B. Bryant. The location was, for the first 30 years of business, located in Newark, New Jersey, after which they relocated to New York, New York. Their firm continued to be listed until 1931 and they were the manufacturers of rings exclusively. The ring is in extraordinary condition, having been well babied throughout its lifetime. The only condition issue to note, is on the inside of the ring, the back side of the black onyx stone has the tiniest little abrasion, really only seen under magnification, and honestly hardly worth noting. The gold design, ivy leaves and engraving, are all in extremely crisp condition, as well as the amethyst. A very unusual and striking ring, by a scarce old maker. We recommend because of the soft nature of 18k gold, that this ring not be worn on an every-day basis, and we are sure you will agree as you will want to keep it in as good of condition as it has been kept for the last century. Circa 1920.

If you live within the United States and wish to return an item, you MUST notify us within the allowable THREE (3) DAY INSPECTION PERIOD after you receive it. We will refer to the USPS delivery confirmation (tracking) date that was provided to you at the time of your purchase. Layaway's are Non-Refundable, transactions made outside of the United States are Non-Refundable. We do not charge restock fees for returns. Refunds are issued less shipping costs. The following conditions apply:

1) The item must be mailed back to us within 7 days of your notification of return.

2) The item must be returned via US Postal Service, in its original packaging, insured for the full purchase price with tracking. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. Please provide us with the tracking number once posted.

3) The item must be received in the same condition as when it was shipped to you, with any tags or identifying marks intact.

In case of items damaged or lost during in shipment, please notify us immediately upon receipt of the parcel, and we will provide you with information regarding filing a claim with USPS. DO NOT RETURN ITEMS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING US, AS DOING SO WILL VOID THE UNITED STATES POST OFFICE SHIPPING INSURANCE POLICIES. Be sure to keep all the original packaging, as well as all pieces of the damaged item. USPS will ask to examine the parcel when the claim is filed.

USPS requires a waiting period of 30 days from the date of mailing before filing a claim for lost items. If you have not received your parcel within a reasonable period of time after receiving our notice of shipment, please email us to report the problem. USPS may ask to review email correspondence between the buyer and seller to confirm details and verify the loss.
