Scarce antique Edwardian Belle Époque 14k yellow gold and platinum heart shaped brooch with diamonds and pearls, signed Henry Blank & Whiteside. This exquisite piece features 12 round European cut diamonds- .50 carat approximate total carat weight and 7 creamy pink iridescent pearls. This can also be worn as a pendant, there is a bail on the back that you can slide a chain though. Very high quality construction, when held from the side you can see where the platinum and 14k gold seams meet. The piece measures 1-1/4" x 1-3/8" and weighs 7.2 grams. Hallmarked "14K" and maker marked on the fold over safety clasp. In exceptional near-mint well babied condition, looking as if it was never worn. Circa 1910-20. Perfect for the bride!

About the maker: Henry Blank (a survivor of the ill fated Titanic) & Company (Newark, New Jersey) was known for its use of platinum in the early part of the 1900s during the Edwardian Brilliant Period. They were one of the foremost East Coast jewelers of their day and known for very high quality goods. Originally established in 1886 as NE Whiteside and Company. In 1899 Henry Blank (originally a supervisor with The Prudential Insurance Company)- became a junior partner to the firm- renaming it Whiteside & Blank. According to American Jewelry Manufacturers by Dorothy T. Rainwater; at the start of the twentieth century Henry Blank began his annual trips to Europe and it was on one of these trips that he was a survivor of The Titanic. In 1917 the firm officially was renamed Henry Blank & Company. Henry Blank senior passed away in 1949 and the was succeeded by his son, Henry M. Blank Jr. In 1927 the company discontinued the manufacturing of fine jewelry and segued into the field of watches exclusively. OUR RETURN/REFUND POLICY:
If you live within the United States and wish to return an item, you MUST notify us within the allowable THREE (3) DAY INSPECTION PERIOD after you receive it. We will refer to the USPS delivery confirmation (tracking) date that was provided to you at the time of your purchase. Layaway's are Non-Refundable, transactions made outside of the United States are Non-Refundable. We do not charge restock fees for returns. Refunds are issued less shipping costs. Your time is valuable, as is ours- please contact us with any questions you may have BEFORE ordering. Read the description carefully for accurate measurements. The following conditions apply:
1) The item must be mailed back to us within 7 days of your notification of return.
2) The item must be returned via US Postal Service, in its original packaging, insured for the full purchase price with tracking. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. Please provide us with the tracking number once posted.
3) The item must be received in the same condition as when it was shipped to you, with any tags or identifying marks intact.
In case of items damaged or lost during in shipment, please notify us immediately upon receipt of the parcel, and we will provide you with information regarding filing a claim with USPS. DO NOT RETURN ITEMS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING US, AS DOING SO WILL VOID THE UNITED STATES POST OFFICE SHIPPING INSURANCE POLICIES. Be sure to keep all the original packaging, as well as all pieces of the damaged item. USPS will ask to examine the parcel when the claim is filed.
USPS requires a waiting period of 30 days from the date of mailing before filing a claim for lost items. If you have not received your parcel within a reasonable period of time after receiving our notice of shipment, please email us to report the problem. USPS may ask to review email correspondence between the buyer and seller to confirm details and verify the loss.
